I absolutely love this theme. It’s grim, downtrodden, and uncertain. Appropriately so since humanity has been ravaged by the fires of war, defeated by the Primers. But then the guitar melody kicks in and it feels uplifting and hopeful. It represents humanity’s determination and desperation to rise up and fight the Primers to the last man and have their final stand defending their home. However the song then goes back to being grim. Despite humanity defiantly clinging to survival, their efforts are futile in the face of the Primers’ might. Is this the end, or merely the beginning?
I can't believe the game drops some hints about changes in the timeline if you're played EDF5. There is mention that EDF bases were all destroyed by attacks from TEN motherships. In EDF5 there is an 11th ship carrying the Primer "God" and I found it strange that there was no mention of a Number 11 as that was a HUGE event that wouldn't be overlooked. The amount of Losses the EDF suffers also is represented with the Mission "Base 251" They show 5 Crosses, with a 6th being added when you failed to end the war in a meaningful way, and one gets added every time it happens. Such a nice detail for those who enjoy the story.

Surely fits the setting. But l much prefer the urgency and the unknown feeling of EDF 3 intermission (EDF2017)
